HOW TO FLY FISH: IT'S BETTER TO BE KNOTTY THAN NICE (PART II)

HOW TO FLY FISH: IT'S BETTER TO BE KNOTTY THAN NICE (PART II)

If you have mastered your basic knot system, here are a couple of knots to add to your repertoire:

Small Flies (Davy Knot)

While you can use the Davy Knot as your go to tippet-to-fly knot, it excels at connecting small flies to tippet. Its simplicity and strength really minimize the headaches of fishing small flies.

Streamers (Non-Slip Loop Knot)

When fishing streamers, you often want to increase your fly’s action. The Non-Slip Loop Knot is the answer allowing your streamer to freely dance on the retrieve. You can use it with nymphs as well as with dries to help get a drag free drift.
