Marvin: Hey, folks, it's Marvin Cash, the host of The Articulate Fly,
Marvin: and we're back with another Roosh Report with Brendan Roosh. Brendan, how are you?
Brendan : Doing well, Marvin. Thanks for having me.
Marvin: Yeah, absolutely. And you're older and wiser. We missed a recording session
Marvin: because it was your 3-0 birthday.
Brendan : Yeah, big 3-0. headed back from Wisconsin and then had some fun.
Brendan : Some good clean living fun.
Marvin: There you go. But you were out fishing with Willen, right?
Brendan : Yeah, I was out fishing with Willen and I got properly hazed for about five days.
Brendan : It was a good time. We were fishing hard.
Brendan : Of course, the rivers blew out the night I got there in typical travel fashion.
Brendan : but luckily he has a sick ranger where you fish the lakes. And I got to see
Brendan : a whole different, a whole different game that I've never even really thought of before. So.
Marvin: Yeah. Very, very cool. Kind of like more like a pike game.
Brendan : Um, just fishing, uh, man-made structure and using electronics to find the structure.
Brendan : And then, you know, ideally you find the fish, but there's a lot of cast and a lot of hoping.
Brendan : And, uh, I did have a sick eat and landed a fish with him.
Marvin: Yeah, very, very cool. And, you know, it's kind of cool. So how does it feel
Marvin: to you if you're the big 3-0, you're like almost a river geyser now?
Brendan : Yeah, it's pretty bizarre thinking about, you know, being 30 and,
Brendan : rowing a boat i don't know it's it's interesting puts things into perspective i guess yeah.
Marvin: And it's it's been you know to say that it's been hot as balls is an understatement uh.
Brendan : We we.
Marvin: Were talking before we started recording that you know luckily maybe in the
Marvin: next two or three days it's gonna you're gonna get maybe 10 degrees or more
Marvin: of relief but uh what are you seeing out there on the water.
Brendan : Um it's been
Brendan : low clear hot um my my
Brendan : water temp at the takeout today was uh like 91 92 degrees um that's probably
Brendan : a little bit warmer than the main current but yeah i mean it was it was warm
Brendan : um getting fish on boogles fish are definitely looking up eating damsel flies Um,
Brendan : so, you know, your Google bug, Mr.
Brendan : Wiggly, um, pretty much anything, anything that floats slaps and is blue right
Brendan : now, getting the job done.
Marvin: And so are you bothering to fish streamers at all or like crayfish or anything
Marvin: like that? Or is it just strictly a topwater bite?
Brendan : Um, it, it depends on what the clients want to do.
Brendan : Um, today they wanted to fish poppers all day, but yeah, I mean,
Brendan : the crayfish bite's always good so uh i
Brendan : had a spin trip the other day and it was
Brendan : it was just bonkers just you know once once the jig hits the bottom it's setting
Brendan : the hook time so uh yeah fish are always going to be on the crayfish and um
Brendan : saw a few fish busting bait today but we were definitely focused on getting
Brendan : some some big top water shippers well.
Marvin: There you go well i have a question for you from Backcast Bow.
Marvin: He wanted to know how many zens makes you zenned up?
Brendan : Zenned up or zenned out?
Marvin: He said zenned up.
Brendan : Zenned up, I mean, two is zenned up for sure.
Marvin: And are those three? Two sixes. I was just getting ready to say threes or sixes.
Brendan : Yeah, I mean, two sixes, that's zinned up for sure, and not somewhere I like to be very often.
Marvin: Gotcha. I would imagine three would put you down like Frazier.
Brendan : Yeah, you know, you get the spins, get real sleepy.
Brendan : It happens sometimes when you're not paying attention. You don't take the used ones out.
Marvin: Sounds like an occupational hazard.
Brendan : Yeah, yeah. I mean, you're sitting on a boat just popping zins.
Brendan : it's it's bound to happen eventually until you start to feel sick and you're
Brendan : like is it the red bull or the zine i don't know but it's probably stopped both yeah.
Marvin: And what's your flavor of choice.
Brendan : Uh cinnazine right now it.
Marvin: Seems to be popular in east tennessee too i don't know what it is everyone's
Marvin: kind of backed off i don't maybe it's a seasonal thing where you know the spearmint
Marvin: and that stuff's a wintertime uh dip substitute.
Brendan : Yeah i don't know i um i always kind of thought I thought cinnamon was good
Brendan : in the wintertime, and then I think Willen actually had it bobbing the hood,
Brendan : and I bummed one off him, and I was like, oh, yeah, I forgot about cinnamon.
Brendan : This is pretty good, and here we are six months later.
Marvin: Yeah, and then this fall, you'll get the pumpkin spice latte version, right?
Brendan : Yeah. Yeah, it's a limited run. I'm looking forward to it.
Marvin: There you go. And Jwin11flies had the serious question this time around.
Marvin: He wanted to know if you ever run a dropper or Mr. Wiggly off a boo-boo bug.
Brendan : I've never really messed with the dropper thing.
Brendan : And it seems like such an obvious thing to do, especially when you're kind of
Brendan : guessing as to what they're eating and you can't really figure out the program.
Brendan : him. Um, so Jack, I'm, I'm gonna, I'm gonna get some girl bugs and, and give that a shot.
Brendan : I think I've, I've tied a couple of rigs up before and then they get tangled immediately.
Brendan : And then I take the dropper off, but the next time I'm out fishing,
Brendan : fishing on my own, I'm going to definitely give that a shot because it's too good not to work.
Marvin: Yeah, there you go. And you know, folks, we love questions on the articulate fly.
Marvin: You can email them to us or DM us on social media, whatever's easiest for you.
Marvin: And if we use your question, I will send you some articulate fly Swag and you'll
Marvin: get it or a drawing for we got a bunch of cool stuff, right?
Marvin: You've got ruched swag, which people can see in the Instagram feed, right?
Marvin: You've got logjam stuff and you've got house fly stuff, right?
Marvin: Yes All friends and secured all secured.
Marvin: Yeah, and I noticed did I see in your Instagram feed that you've got a few cancellations, right?
Brendan : Yeah, I had open a I,
Brendan : I don't have them on the top of my head or off the top of my head.
Marvin: That's okay. They should just DM you. But generally, last time we spoke,
Marvin: you're probably getting booked up, but you were starting to fill up into August, right?
Brendan : Yeah. Yeah, I do have a few days available in August. If someone wants to get
Brendan : out and do that, you know, the dead drifting, twitch every 10 seconds,
Brendan : watch a big beak come up, tip a popper.
Brendan : It's a really good time, and it beats hiking in the heat.
Marvin: Yeah, I did that. I was in Roan Mountain last week. It was hot.
Marvin: So, well, you know, you want to let folks know kind of, you know,
Marvin: if they want to get on your guide calendar, because I imagine you'll run that
Marvin: small mouth program. What, until probably the first or second week, October?
Brendan : Yeah, I mean, I'm usually I'll run until the first real cold snap in November.
Marvin: Yeah. And so, you know, they can reach out. Where should they find you?
Brendan : You can reach out at ruchangling at gmail.com. At Brendan Roosh on Instagram,

Marvin: be able to find you on Taiwan On with the Log Jam folks this week?
